Pathway 3 Lactation Intern Providing Supervised Lactation Support in Tennessee
About Mary Grace
With a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, my work with infants has given me a unique perspective on feeding challenges. As an SLP, my scope of practice focused on bottle-feeding skills for babies experiencing feeding difficulties. Through that work, I began talking with moms who felt defeated when breastfeeding wasn’t going the way they had hoped, and I realized there was a gap in the support I was able to provide.
That experience inspired me to pursue additional training in lactation so I could better support families who want to continue breastfeeding while also addressing their baby’s feeding needs. Healthy babies always come first, and being able to help a parent work toward their feeding goals while making sure their baby is well-fed and supported is incredibly meaningful to me.
