About Angela

Angela Lee is the owner and founder of Blessed Beginnings Lactation, Breastfeeding Support & Infant Care, a Middle Tennessee lactation practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to families in the comfort of their own homes.

A registered nurse since 2001 and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2009, Angela brings more than two decades of maternal-infant healthcare experience to her leadership of Blessed Beginnings. Her clinical background includes labor and delivery, NICU, mother-baby care, childbirth education, and lactation. She began working in lactation in 2005 and founded Blessed Beginnings in 2009 after recognizing a significant gap in the support available to families once they left the hospital.

What began as Angela personally caring for mothers and babies has grown into a large, collaborative team of IBCLCs serving families throughout Middle Tennessee. Blessed Beginnings now provides thousands of lactation visits each year, with care extending across the greater Nashville region and surrounding communities.

As the company has grown, Angela’s role has evolved from primarily providing direct patient care to building the clinical, educational, and operational systems that allow a large team to provide consistently high-quality care. She oversees the strategic direction of Blessed Beginnings, including team development, clinical standards, community partnerships, education, quality improvement, and the continued expansion of access to lactation care.

One of Angela’s greatest passions is developing the next generation of lactation professionals. Blessed Beginnings operates a comprehensive Pathway 3 Internship Program that gives aspiring IBCLCs structured clinical experience, mentorship, education, and progressively greater responsibility as they develop their skills. Angela has also created a culture of continuing education within Blessed Beginnings, with ongoing clinical training, mentorship, and professional development for the entire team.

Angela believes excellent lactation care requires far more than simply helping a baby latch. Families deserve advanced practice clinicians who understand the interconnected nature of maternal health, infant development, milk production, oral function, feeding mechanics, pumping, bottle feeding, growth, and the emotional realities of the postpartum period. Just as importantly, they deserve individualized recommendations that are realistic for their family rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

That philosophy has shaped Blessed Beginnings from the beginning.

Expanding access to lactation care has become an important part of Blessed Beginnings’ growth. Together with key members of her leadership and administrative team, Angela has worked to navigate the complexities of insurance participation, credentialing, reimbursement, and community partnerships. This collaborative effort has helped more families access skilled lactation support while allowing Blessed Beginnings to continue developing a sustainable model of care for both families and clinicians.

As Blessed Beginnings has grown, Angela has remained committed to preserving what mattered when she first began seeing families in their homes: personal connection. She believes growth should never come at the expense of compassionate care. Every system, training process, partnership, and operational decision ultimately comes back to one question will this help mothers and babies receive better care?

Today, Angela’s greatest joy as CEO is seeing that mission carried forward through the clinicians and team members she has the privilege of working alongside. What began with one nurse and lactation consultant serving families in Middle Tennessee has become a team of professionals working together toward the same goal: making sure families feel heard, supported, educated, and confident as they navigate feeding their babies.

Blessed Beginnings has never simply been about breastfeeding. It is about caring for families during one of the most vulnerable and formative seasons of their lives and making sure they do not have to navigate it alone.
